Castles on a cloud

Showtime took over the Sheraton Hotel on 7th for the upcoming premire of The Tudors. I enjoy the show and found it fun to see this in the middle of the city!

This is a picture of the floor at work and the reflection of the light above. It was a slow day! :)

Artsy In New York...again.

I saw this on Broadway and don't ever recall walking past it before. I like it but this picture makes it look a lot more alien than it looked to me when I saw it.

Happy Easter....Bock Bock!

I saw these in the window of the Mrs. Field's in Radio City. It was a different kind of Easter Window. I sure seem to be posting about cookies quite a bit lately. Who needs to get back on the WW train!?!? :)

Globetrotting

You'd almost think I only hang around Columbus Circle since all my pictures of late seem to be from there. However in fairness I do walk past here every day. I've always like this global and since it was a sunny day I figured I'd snap this picture. I can't wait to see it with the trees in bloom.

One Way is the RIGHT way?

I took this picture of the angel in Columbus Circle from across the street. I almost think it's new as the body and wings are brighter than the rest. I didn't notice the "One Way" sign until I went to post it. Is the Lord telling me something? :)

Truck Jacking anyone?

I saw this on 8th avenue and had to take this picture for K, they are his favorite cookies. I have never loved these. I mean don't get me wrong I do love them in ice cream but I never really grew up with them around. I actually prefer the vanilla ones. Or better yet NUTTER BUTTERS!! Now there's a truck I'd steal! :) Wow now I want to break up nutter butters and vanilla oreos in ice cream.

Gemini Horoscope for week of March 20, 2008

It's an excellent time to seek out new allies, expand your social network, and make connections with influences that will motivate you to grow smarter and stronger. Here are the kinds of connections you might want to be on the lookout for: 1. hard workers who find everything funny; 2. down-to-earth idealists who place no emotional value on having expensive possessions; 3. nerds who are cocky in mysterious ways; 4. humble perfectionists who obsess over the integrity of every little thing they do and then mock themselves for being so conscientious; 5. couples who hold hands and jump into big puddles with their nice clothes on; 6. sympathetic listeners who will kindly kick your ass if you need it.

In Like a Lion?

These are painted on the wall of a spot on Graham Ave in Brooklyn that P and I stop in to get vegan cookies. They have about everything you can think of in them. Chocolate Chips, Oatmeal, Coconut and some other stuff I can't think of at the moment. I also don't recall the name of the restaurant. I think it's called the Mighty Diamond? I like the colors.

Super Friends!!!!

Today to kill some time I went Midtown Comics East. I have been there in at least 6 or 8 months. I ended up buying the first Trade Paper Back for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It is the first six issues of "Season 8". I picks up where the TV show left off. I had the first two issues but now I have the whole arc. I have to say the story is fun to read. I combines two things I love - Comics and Buffy!! I was talking about the store tonight and I realize how excited and energized I get talking about comics. I should find a way to harness that. So here are pictures of some DC characters including my favorite : WONDER WOMAN. This is art work by Axel Ross. I have always liked his interpretation of her.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Here I am giving five to a Leprechaun I happened to run into on the way to dinner tonight. I couldn't get him to show me where the pot of gold was!!

Hey I know that PIG!! Here's P hugging his favorite pig. We happened to be getting dinner next door and since I made him pose with this pig once before I HAD to get him to pose again. He was gracious enough to do it and didn't even get beat up by the drunken bystanders!!

So after we left Sing Along Grease at the Ziegfeld we were walking to the train saw this:

GIANT containers of CORNED BEEF!! Ewww ALMOST makes a fella want to go VEGAN!! :) Almost!

Spring time on the mountain top

So I finally went outside today! I am feeling better about 75% so I went to meet P for dinner at Gobo. It was great but it's a bit pricey. What is it the vegans overcharging for cryin' out loud!?!? There's no meat! :)

Anyway I took this picture of the mountain top as I walked to train. I noticed these yellow flowers growing. I hope it's a sign Spring will be here soon.

Home Sick Day 3

So I am still home sick. I think I am getting better. I am bummed cause P & I were invited to E's game night in Brooklyn. I was looking forward to it but I still didn't feel 100%. I think it's better that I rest this weekend than run around so it was for the best. However the photos are of P's and my dinner from last week at Angelica Kitchen. I had the top one which was Seitan with Mashed Sweet Potatoes (I LOVE mashed Sweet potatoes!) and string beans. P had the Ole Man Seitan burrito which had Mole sauce. I LOVE Mole Sauce. :) We shared it all. It was funny cause I was wanted to ask for a second plate to give half of mine to P but he told me to just eat half and then pass him the plate. For some reason that never occurred to me as splitting a meal. It worked but I think I like the idea of having both options in front of me at once. It's my Gemini showing, I like options! :)

Home Sick Day 2

So this is a pic I took last Friday with P as we went to see my friend M's one woman show . It was my third time seeing it. I was really impressed with what she did. We had a great time and ended up seeing the woman who played Celie from "The Color Purple - The Musical" which we had seen only a few weeks ago. I don't know what this was a sign for, I think a bar. But I really liked it.

Home Sick Day 1

So I was home sick today and took no new pictures so I offer this from Sunday night. As P, his friends and I walked past the fur covered Barbies I noticed moon. And I snapped this pic of it. Sadly I couldn't keep my hand steady enough so it's a bit blurred but I really like it.

Gemini Horoscope for week of March 13, 2008

Before you attempt a quantum leap of faith over the yawning abyss, please remove your 500 pounds of defense mechanisms first. Your success in soaring the whole distance will require you to be free of emotional baggage. As long as you fulfill this simple prerequisite, I'm in favor of you risking the transition. It's about time you summoned more zeal to follow the path with heart, even if that path resumes on the other side of the great divide.

Columbus Circle Part 3

So on my way home from work this image caught my eye. It's a guy looking in a manhole. It struck me as so odd when I saw it.

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

Faces all around me.

This is a picture of some windows on a building (I don't remember where). I was struck how it looks like a face to me somehow. BOO!

Columbus Circle Part 2

Now that Daylight Savings Time has taken effect I was able to get these pictures of the fountain on the way home from work. I really like them.

Fur is Murder...Unless you're BARBIE

So I went to see Persepolis (the Oscar nominated animated film about a girl coming of age during the Iranian Revolution), with P and some of his friends. I really liked the film and getting the chance to meet his friends. The night before I went with him to this cousin's 30th birthday party and got to meet much of his Dad's side of the family. They were all really very nice and I had a great time. I basically met most of the important people in his life in one weekend!

As the group of us were walking to find the Thai place we were going to have dinner in I spotted this in the window of a fur store. I went in to see how much these cost and they were $99 each. I used to love Barbie so I had to take a picture of this! It reminds me of when I saw these Bob Mackie Barbies on TV years ago. Check them out here: http://www.angelicdreamz.com/store/mackie.html If I had unlimited money and space I think I would collect them! LOL

Weekend Hor'dourves

So on weekend mornings when I stay at P's I make us these little Hor'dourves. He used to make crackers with coconut oil and peanut butter and I took it to the next level by adding banana slices and dried cranberries. On this occasion I added dried blueberries and almonds. I must admit it was delicious! I took these with my macro setting...Thanks Macro bok bok!

Columbus Circle Part 1

I walk past this many nights on the way home on the A train so I stopped and took a picture of it. It's part of the fountain at Columbus I don't recall if I've ever seen water coming out of it.

Gemini Horoscope for week of March 6, 2008

"When friends stop being frank and useful to each other," wrote literary critic Anatole Broyard, "the whole world loses some of its radiance." Make sure that doesn't happen any time soon, Gemini. In fact, regard this horoscope as a warning beacon that motivates you to action. Intensify your intention to keep your best alliances frank and useful. Infuse a dose of raw candor into any relationship that is in danger of becoming lazy or dishonest.

Who said Disney is taking over New York?

So this was the window at the Drama Book Shop on 40th street. I thought it was colorful it seems to be celebrating Disney on Broadway.

George and Rocky

So M and I walked around Union Square as I CRASHED from my sugar high and I took these pics. I had a good time trying to get the squirrels to pose for me! :)

Max Brenner STRIKES Again! Part 4

So Sunday I found myself hanging out with M in Union Square and we ended up at the OTHER Max Brenner location for brunch. So I got the "Chocolate Mess"(not as my meal as dessert) because I thought about getting it the other night. It was not so great. Basically it's chocolate cake with warm syrup and ice cream and whipped cream. It really does become a mess. M got the Churros. I think I will NEVER have chocolate again! :)

Max Brenner Part 3

This is what K had the "Chocolate Fondue". It was good as well. The funny thing is we spent like $70 on DESSERT!! Oh well it was all about the experience, right?

Max Brenner Part 2

This is what E had "Crunchie Munchie Waffles" or something like that. Great presentation. It was good.
